Spellbinders|Fall and Halloween 2020 Collection Glimmer Hot Foil

Hey crafty friends, I hope you are ready for some fun cards today. I have 2 cards that I made using Spellbinders new collection. I made a Fall and Halloween card, that I think you are going to love! I used the Autumn Leaf Border and the Spider Web Background Glimmer Plates. I LOVE Glimmer Hot foil and the more I use it the more I love it!

For the Halloween card, I started with a piece of 120lb white cardstock and inked it using Taylored Expressions Pumpkin, Candy Corn and Pineapple. Inked from lightest to darkest using Blender Brushes and starting with Pineapple then Candy Corn and finally Pumpkin. These are dye inks, so it may look blotchy at first but it will soak in and be smooth.

Once the ink was dry, I foiled the Spider Webs with Silver Holographic Foil. I felt that this foil would give it the shiny Spider Web look. I foiled the top then the bottom, the images overlapped slightly on the sides. I then foiled the sentiment in Black Foil, I think the script is fantastic for Halloween. Once it was all foiled I trimmed the panel about 1/4" on all sides. This is an A2 size card.

To finish the card, I die cut some bats from a past Small Die of the Month, in Ebony cardstock multiple times. I glued them together for dimension and then glued some singular ones as well. I added some black jewels and Ebony Nuvo Crystal Drop around the Spider Webs. I matted the panel onto a piece of Ebony cardstock and attached that to a white A2 size card base.

Now, for the Fall card. I started by foiling the Autumn Leaf Border three times with three different foils onto a piece of 120lb white cardstock. I used Blush on the bottom, Copper in the middle and Polished Brass on the top. Then I used inks from Taylored Expressions in, Sweet Basil, Pumpkin and Pineapple. I started at the top of the panel and took the ink pad directly to the paper and drug it down gently, to the bottom. I left streaks on purpose. I started with Pineapple ink because it is the lightest (I didn't want to contaminate my ink pad). After it was all inked, I lightly wiped the foil with dry paper towel to get the ink off.

I used another piece of white 120lb cardstock and used Pineapple ink and inked directly to the paper again, getting it good and saturated. Once it was dry I foiled the sentiment from Let Your Sentiments Shine, in Espresso Bean Foil. I trimmed down the panel to a square and matted Gold Mirror cardstock.

To finish the card, I trimmed the inked and foiled image down 1/2" smaller than an A2 size panel and attached it to a white A2 size card base. Then I used foam tape behind the sentiment for dimension and added Gold Fever Confetti with liquid glue.

I hope you love these cards as much as I do and I hope you feel inspired. Thank you for stopping by.

Hugs,

Joy
